Spirit-Led Life

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” Romans 14:17

Christ-likeness is not achieved in living by religious laws, but by living according to the fruit of the Spirit. A relationship is built by relating, not by enforced adherence to rules. Closeness to our Lord is the result of living a Spirit-led life, by growing in His grace, walking in peace and joy, even in the midst of storms and chaos.

Religious activities and check-lists are not what the Kingdom of God is about. Heaven is not about fitting into a set criteria of do’s and don’ts, but in dying to self and allowing the Spirit of God to live the Kingdom of God within us.

Let’s pray today that we will not put our Old Covenant ways above our New Covenant Spirit-led Kingdom life.

Prideful Ignorance

“It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” Romans 14:11

Prideful men publicize their ignorance when they openly deny the Bible and reject Jesus as Lord. One day, they’ll change their minds, if they don’t change their belief, when they stand before God in the judgment. It will be a sad day when they realize they’ve resisted too long or waited too long to bow and confess Him as Lord.

Have mercy on those who flaunt what they think is wisdom for without the Lord’s Spirit they are clueless at how absurd their hate for truth sounds. Except for the grace of God and His convicting Spirit, we would be the same.

Let’s pray today for the Spirit of God to breakthrough the hardened heart’s of the lost.

Discerning Truth

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

All you see isn’t real and all you hear isn’t true, which is why all must be checked against the word of God. The Bible gives you the plain reality of the world and it is the standard of everlasting truth. God gave us a brain to discern error and to judge motives, so don’t listen to worldly minded people who have no sense of righteousness.

Keep your mind fixed on the Lord and upon His kingdom so the temptations of this world will lose its appeal to your soul. By beholding what’s good and true the mind will be transformed to follow suit.

Let’s pray today that the Spirit of God may guide us in discerning truth from error.

Living God’s Word

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17

The message of the saving gospel convicts our sinful hearts to exercise faith in living out God’s word. The testimony of the Bible stands as evidence that Calvary is our only hope of a new life, a new way, and reason to repent and follow Jesus. Like a bride and a groom, we say I do to Jesus and we live that out, through faith, each new day.

Our faith is not built on motivation or on an ability to work up to some level of emotionalism. Instead, our faith is based on the clear written promises of God’s Word, it is dependent on what God says not what we feel.

Let’s pray today that every decision in our life will be one that lives out the teachings of the Bible.

Deserving of Hell

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

Man can not be saved by his own character, nor by his devotion to a religion, but only by Jesus Christ. Without confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior we are doomed and deserving of hell. No other name under heaven is capable, qualified, or purposed for redemption from humanity’s eternal separation in hell, but Jesus the Son of God.

We pray in Jesus’ name because we claim His character, not our character, as the righteousness that makes our forgiveness from sins and our eternal salvation even possible. It is only because of Jesus that we escape hell.

Let’s pray today that we may claim the blood of Christ for our sins.

Faith that Saves

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

Saving faith goes in your life from hearing the gospel and out to others by confessing the gospel. You can not live as a follower of Jesus Christ by containing any type of private belief no more than one can get legally married and expect to keep it private. It is in confessing Christ as our personal Lord and Savior that we personally partake in a faith that saves.

There can be no denial through conversations or behavior if the Savior is Lord of your life. You can not hide the light from being seen and not be surprised when the lack of oxygen sniffs that hidden light out.

Let’s pray today for opportunities to confess our faith in Jesus before others.

No Separation

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Nothing, not even Satan himself, can separate the Christian from the hand of the Lord Jesus Christ. The weight of wicked one may seem overwhelming to bear. The devil may try his evil best by tempting you, he may assault, accuse, harm, and even kill you, but that will not separate you from the gift of eternal life offered by faith through the grace of Calvary’s cross.

Having moved all Heaven to send the Lamb of God as the sacrifice for man’s sin, just know that our God will not abandon the world now. The Lord Jesus Christ is returning soon and where He is so will we be, forever.

Let’s pray today in assurance of God’s irrevocable and unconditional love.

It’s God’s Plan

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32

Do not error in thinking that God the Father is uninterested in your salvation, because it is His plan. God the Father is the initiator of Jesus’ work of salvation and it’s His will that we are saved. He is not about to forsake you now, He has not lost interest, He has not changed His mind, and He certainly is not going to allow those who trust in His Son to be left behind.

Do not think that the plan of redemption ended with Calvary. The atonement is powerful enough to save. Holy angels are among us, the Holy Spirit is with us, all Heaven is involved in working out our salvation to the Lord’s return.

Let’s pray today that we believe in Jesus even as we are tested by tough times.

Walk with Jesus

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

As a believer in Jesus Christ you will have life stories that will turn out better than you thought possible. When you purpose in your heart to love God and seek to bring glory to Him, there is no circumstance of life that His grace will be unable to work with. The valleys of sorrow can lead to the heights of joy when you walk through it with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Like waking to our old age and realizing that time is gone with all its troubles, we will have a day to praise the Lord for working His glory through circumstances with glorious unexpected outcomes.

Let’s pray today to allow our Lord to mold us and our circumstances to His glory.

Prayer Beyond Words

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26

The Spirit of God bridges our prayers with Heaven making our faith known beyond our actual words. Words are limited by our education or experiences but God doesn’t hold those limits against us when we approach Him in prayer. His Spirit communicates our very heart’s desire with clarity when sorrow, grief, or pain prevents utterances.

The Spirit of God knows our sincerity, even if we are unable to voice that into words, and He translates our conviction and beliefs into the incense of prayer that moves the arm of the Omnipotent.

Let’s pray today with the depth of our soul in pleading Christ’s grace for our needs.

Spirit of Adoption

“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15

The spirit of man enslaves with fear but the Spirit of God empowers with an adoption commitment. An adoptee no longer fears being rejected or orphaned once adopted. Likewise, you do not need to fear being abandoned by God because in Jesus you have been adopted by God. Do not fear losing your salvation, because Jesus is your salvation.

In Christ we have a forever family that extends beyond this age and through all eternity. There is no reason to fear rejection or any kind of conditional acceptance when we are part of the family of God.

Let’s pray today in thanksgiving and faith that our God has adopted us and will not orphan us.

No Condemnation

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1

The believer in Christ’s grace is legally freed from the penalty of their sins – past, present, and future. There is absolute freedom in Jesus Christ, but His grace doesn’t motivate us toward greater sin, instead it inspires us toward a greater obedience to Calvary. Grace compels us ever closer in a daily walk with Him, not further from Him.

There is no condemnation for you as you seek to follow your Lord because He was tempted as man and is familiar with the battle you fight. Jesus Christ is full of compassion and endless grace for those who seek, follow, and obey Him.

Let’s pray today in praise and gratitude for forgiveness and mercy that is ours in Jesus.

Under Grace

“For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14

Living under the law as a means of salvation is a sure way to condemnation, but life under grace is freedom from sin. If we live our lives consumed with avoiding the breaking of the law, we are beholding our own imperfection. If we live our lives beholding the grace of Christ, we are consumed with His perfection.

We love Him most when we know His grace most. When we realize that the Creator of all has freely given Himself as the sacrifice for our sinful choices, we can’t help but to want to follow Him in obedience.

Let’s pray today that we may find freedom from sin through the covering grace of Christ.

Live by Grace

“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:11

You struggle with a sinful fallen nature, but exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and live by His grace. Be alive in faith and believe that He died for you on Calvary’s cross and that He rose from the grave for you so that you may live in newness of life, now. Contemplate His great sacrifice and step forward in Christ’s grace through faith.

It does not matter how often you fall as long as you keep getting up by His grace, but you must trust that in Christ you are dead to sin. That means you don’t give sin life by yielding to it, rehearsing it, and keeping it alive in your mind.

Let’s pray today in meditation upon the glory of our Lord and His grace for us.

He Arose

“For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.” Romans 6:5

Jesus didn’t just die for you, He also arose from the grave to eternal life for you. Just as at Calvary your sins were forgiven, so at the resurrection your life is made new, forever. You can not duplicate Calvary or resurrection morning through works, but through faith you can believe that His word is true – you are united with your Lord in forgiveness of confessed sins and the new life of His grace.

We really need to talk more from the pulpit about the resurrection promise because that will be the ultimate evidence of our faith in Calvary, if we are not translated with those who are alive at the time of Christ’s return.

Let’s pray today that we may put our faith in believing that His resurrection life is ours, too.

Calvary Has Happened

“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” Romans 5:10

It’s easy to doubt your salvation when you see your sins, but remember that Calvary has already happened. God has invested in you prior to your birth through the sacrifice of His Son and He is not pulling back from that eternal investment in you. Jesus Christ gave up His Heavenly throne for an earthly cross so you can have eternal life.

The Son of God did not leave His glorious Heaven to die on your behalf only to lose interest in you — He gave His life for you and He has not changed His mind now. You are saved by His life so wholeheartedly give yours to Him.

Let’s pray today that we may be in praise and awe of what our Savior has done for us.

September 25, 2025

Justified

“Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.” Romans 3:20

The old covenant law was meant to instruct us on how not to sin, not on how to be saved. Justification is by faith, not works. God will not justify your entrance into heaven by your religious works or by any standard of keeping the Old Testament laws and regulations, but by grace through faith in the work of Jesus Christ.

We do not disregard the law, but we do not fixate ourselves on it either. There is no constant referencing of the law through our day because we fix our eyes upon the Lord Jesus Christ and become justified by Him.

Let’s pray today that we would obediently trust in Christ’s grace for our justification to be saved.

The Gospel

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Romans 1:16

In modern times being a Christian has been a quiet walk, but the gospel is meant to be a loud pursuit. The gospel speaks volumes to those who choose to remain in their sin. The gospel puts backbone in a persecuted saint, it preaches words beyond the ability of any pulpit, it is power to the powerless, and that is louder than any evil-doer can shout.

The gospel is light in darkness, it is good news among bad news, it cannot be hidden or denied so as believers in Jesus Christ we ought not to shrink back in our testimony. Allow the gospel to simply shine.

Let’s pray today that we may be the gospel of Jesus Christ through our words and deeds.
