God our Provider

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

The only person without a need is the one who has passed onto glory, and until then we must depend on Jesus. Emotional, financial, or whatever that need is we must all learn to allow our Heavenly Father to help, not to place expectations on others to do what God is there to do on our behalf. It’s the needs of life, not the wants of our humanity that our God will satisfy.

God will not withhold blessings for His children because they fall out of the category of necessity. He is the Lord Savior and the Creator of Heaven and Earth. He is the Divine Gift-Giver, and as we stay close to Him through prayer and walk with Him through faith, He provides.

Let’s pray today for those who have needs in their life, that they will depend on their Lord to provide.

Secret of Success

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

Whatever God puts on your heart, know that the secret of success is His Spirit blessing your efforts. Start doing something and stop wrestling with your doubts and trust in God to lead you in your steps. Put plans behind your hope and leave the results to God. The Holy Spirit will strengthen you, guide you, and affirm you, but only as you willingly move forward believing in His strength.

Show some faith in God and move forward with action claiming His promise for the hope that is on your heart. If it is of the Lord it can not be stopped and even if doors close, you will not be any worse by following where the Lord leads.

Let’s pray today for those wrestling to be used by God through word or deed for the cause of Christ.

Peace in Jesus

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Peace in a trial is not explainable, but it is experienced when your heart and mind is set on the Lord Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God directs our paths, and sometimes that leads to decisions that don’t make sense to an observer, but to us who trust in Jesus there is a confident calmness in obeying God.

Sadness may haunt us, grief may bury our laughter, pain may steal our smile, but in Jesus we have peace. We can not explain the peace of Jesus to others, but we know it deep within so we are not frazzled by sorrow that comes from without.

Let’s pray today that those in trials of life may turn their eyes on Jesus and find peace in Him.

Eternal Citizenship

“Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” Philippians 3:19-20

This world is not our home, which is precisely why our hearts are troubled by the decline of our times. We should stand for truth in society and voice our opposition to sin, but our hope is in the return of our Redeemer. Our faith in Christ gives us an eternal perspective, so we hold things here loosely and hold things of eternity firmly.

We should be supportive citizens of our earthly nations and guide them as we can to righteous paths, but ultimately our hope is in our eternal Kingdom where we are already recognized as forever citizens.

Let’s pray today that we may  keep an eternal perspective in our temporary world.

Fulfilling His Salvation

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Once the Spirit of God begins cleaning your heart, don’t stop Him and think that you can finish the task. Let the Holy Spirit continually work in you, fulfilling His salvation, and He will work even up until the day that Jesus catches you up and out of this world. You did not start your conversion so why do you think you must finish your conversion?

God has promised that He will finish what He has started. Put another way, God has promised that He will not abandon you along the journey of your Christian faith but will lead you through to immortal life in Heaven.

Let’s pray today that all who claim Christ will trust in Him to complete God’s work of salvation in their life.
