Jesus First
“As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.” Psalm 17:15
We may seek to model our lives after a mentor or a parent we admire, but ultimately our energy and focus should be in making Jesus first. The Christian goal is Christ-likeness. Don’t give up your divine inheritance for a temporal promise of a bigger paycheck, more material gains, or public notoriety. Be excellent at your craft or profession, but please do not compromise your calling to arise in the resurrection in His likeness.
Some will gain the world and lose their soul and for them it means the second resurrection. As for you, choose life by putting Jesus first and you will awake in the first resurrection of the saved and the eternal reward of seeing His face.
Let’s pray today that Jesus stays first in our attitude, business, and relationships.
