Forgiving Others
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15
The best way to know that we understand God’s grace is to evaluate how we extend grace to others. To know that we are forgiven by God is to know that we are forgiving of others. It is easy to willingly forgive another for their sinfulness expressed toward us when we are fully aware of how much our Lord has willingly forgiven us.
It is in our appreciation for God’s forgiveness of our sins that our attitude softens toward others in similar sin. When we realize that God has turned our own life around we can begin to view others with a hope that He can do the same for them.
Let’s pray today that we would allow God to handle those who hurt or harm us and stay in His grace.
