Merciful Judgment
“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7
As you are merciful toward others, so will God in his judgment be merciful toward you. We all want God’s grace, not the wrath we deserve, but when we realize our own sinfulness it’s easier to be merciful toward others. When we are grateful for Calvary and appreciate the price Christ paid, it’s easier to be merciful with others.
Sometimes circumstances and relationships may tempt us to judge harshly but often, through prayerful contemplation, we can extend mercy in attitude and deed when we are reminded of the undeserved mercy the Lord has extended to us.
Let’s pray today to have compassion and patience with others for the sake of Christ.
