Resistance to God
“Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.” Proverbs 29:1
We are created with a free-will to choose to be obedient to the Lord or to choose to resist obedience to the Lord. The choice is ours, because the God of love has not programmed us to behave as robots or computers. Like a parent who cares for the life of his children, God reproves us in our waywardness in hopes to correct us.
At some point, persistent resistance to God turns one from life to certain death because in persisting they have shut-out their own chance to repent. It is called hardening your heart or searing your conscience with a hot iron.
Let’s pray today that we may not resist eternal life by resisting God’s Spirit.
